Editorial integrity

The Revista Mexicana de Investigación Médica is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors, ethical concerns, or potential misconduct are identified in a published article, the Editorial Board will follow the recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections

When minor, unintentional errors are identified that do not affect the validity of the study's results, conclusions, or scientific interpretation, the journal will publish a correction (erratum or editorial correction) linked to the original article, clearly describing the changes made.

Retractions

The journal may retract a published article when there is evidence of scientific misconduct, including but not limited to data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication, manipulation of the peer-review process, violations of ethical standards, or major errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions. Retraction notices will be clearly identified, permanently linked to the original article, and will explain the reasons for the retraction.

Editorial Expressions of Concern

When substantial concerns exist regarding the integrity of a publication but an investigation is ongoing or conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may issue an Editorial Expression of Concern to alert readers while the matter is being resolved.

Procedure

Concerns regarding published articles may be raised by authors, reviewers, readers, or affiliated institutions. The Editorial Board will investigate all cases confidentially, request relevant information from the involved parties, and make decisions based on available evidence and COPE guidelines. Authors will be informed of the outcome, and institutions may be notified when appropriate.
